About Merry Grinchmas:

I really enjoyed this animated version on Netflix. The cute dog was delightful. For the first time in my life I celebrated Christmas outside of South Korea, in Australia. It was hot and sunny, not a white Christmas like what I had been accustomed to. It felt like the Grinch had stolen away my Christmas season. But somehow in Australia (in Brisbane”) with their Christmas house lights competition and Christmas parades and family gatherings under rather large Christmas trees at home, there was still a celebration that couldn’t be lost or stolen away. That heart warming stripped back Christmas Season didn’t rely on snow or winter and in its own way was delightful and meaningful. Much like the Grinch realize after he has stolen all the presents and Christmas decorations. The celebration of Christmas came from the heart and was much bigger than the commercial traditions.

It also helps if you have a really wonderful dog.

To @ddasuhan_ Merry Grinchmas:

We live in what feels like an ever increasingly commercially orientated world, where we are reminded that we need all the accessories to fit in. In a way by stealing all those away the Grinch taught us all a valuable lesson that none of those things really matter. To give Merry Grinchmas to someone is to remind them that through thick and thin, richness and abundance, to celebrate with all their hearts the gifts of life, family, friends, community and each other. Also a reminded that having a true friend (a partner in crime even) makes the adventure all that more wonderful.
