Drawings I drew for personal reasons.
About @ddasuhan_ by Jisu Sang
I started drawing these pictures during a low point in my life. I drew them for myself. Drawing childhood characters brought back some of that magic of being a child before the adult world delated all my hopes and ambitions. These wonderful shows and characters taught me how to dream again, enjoy life again, bringing the colour back into my world. I started posting the pictures on Instagram @ddasuhan_ (which in Korean means “a warm feeling”) and found that others felt the same and enjoyed looking at the drawings weekly to feel better and enjoy a touch of nostalgia from their childhood.
The size of the A5 or some postcard sized artworks are deliberate. The pictures look bigger to a child, and are sized like memories of one's childhood. Memories that are seemingly small now but were seemingly felt much larger when you were a child. So each artwork is packaged in a comic book sleeve with board to communicate this curated collection. Memories are often shared with significant others, so each artwork can also serve as a special gift for someone else.
I hope you enjoy my online gallery and thank you for watching my drawings on Instagram and YouTube.
